It’s all about a good meat,
The world has changed and a humble burger has changed too. This dish has changed the way we eat our burgers today. And to make the best burger recipe, you’ll need a very good quality mince so you can serve them pink and juicy. Prepare them in advance so they can firm up in the fridge before putting them on BBQ grill. And this is the best way to cook burgers. That’s how we cook our burgers at our Padstow Restaurant Burgers & Fish. Well done, lets start.
Here is our humble steak burger recipe:
1kg good mince meat
(aged chuck, point end brisket, aged rib)
or ask your local butcher what’s available to make the best burger
1 onion, fine dice
Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, season well. Weight the meat into 200g size portions and mould them with your hands into burger shapes. To make all uniform, you can use pastry mould rings or keep it rustic.
Place shaped burgers on a tray, cover with cling film and leave it until you need it.
And now it’s your turn, to make it happen. Get your BBQ on, nice and hot until your coal is glowing with no flame. Add some birch wood for some extra flavour. Which you can always get from your local log supplier.
Pick a bun of your choice, traditional bap, brioche or sourdough roll or sandwich between two toasted bread slices if you like. You can use any condiments you want to create your ultimate burger recipe. There is no rules, you can add anything you like from classics like bacon, caramelised onions, cheddar cheese, blue cheese, no cheese or notch a level up and add sliced pastrami, pulled brisket, smoked ham or something else of your choice. Chutney or no chutney, pickles, salads, garlic mayo, ketchup, bbq sauce and a lot more. Creativity is endless, so get creative.
Enjoy this recipe for your summer bbq.
